Ashridge House is located in Hertfordshire, near the town of Berkhamsted, only 30 minutes north of London.
Whether youβre flying, driving, or taking a hot air balloon, weβve got you covered with instructions below.

HOW TO GET THERE
Whether coming across the Atlantic or down the street, we recommend determining (and booking) your transportation as early as possible.
If youβre flying into the UK, our recommendation would be to fly into Heathrow Airport.
Weβve listed our recommended methods of travel from Heathrow Airport to Ashridge House, below. Click the underlined text below to view further details for each.
A1 Car Service is our top preferred transit option from Heathrow to Ashridge for those not renting a car. This company is Ashridge Preferred so they are familiar with the location, will not charge a surge fee for high traffic hours (unlike Uber) and have a special discount for our guests. Cost ranges between Β£81 -Β£86 for two people/$91-$96 for four people before tip, and there is a credit card terminal in all vehicles.

We would not recommend flying into Gatwick Airport, as thereβs no direct travel routes, unless youβre renting a car. If for some reason you must fly into Gatwick, weβve listed further details here.
For those of you that donβt need to hop on an airplane to come see us, feel free to use any of the bus, train and automobile methods to get to Ashridge. Should you choose to drive, thereβs plenty of parking on-site for our guests.

HEATHROW AIRPORT
Ashridge House is approximately 40 min drive from Heathrow Airport.
If you donβt plan on renting a car or taking an Uber, and youβre up for a challenge then your remaining option is to take a National Express Bus from Heathrow T2,3 to Hemel Hempstead.
The bus station is within the airport, however we suggest to allow a minimum of 1 hour from your scheduled arrival time to reach the bus station.
Follow signs to Heathrow Central Bus Station T2,3. A bus leaves approximately every 2 hours.

NATIONAL EXPRESS BUS ROUTES
Disclaimer: We only recommend taking a bus if youβre up for an adventure and want to save a few Β£s! This is not for the faint of heart as we discovered on a recent trip to Ashridge π
The nearest direct bus stop to Ashridge House is Hemel Hempstead, Bridge St, Stop M, Hertfordshire.
Book your bus to Hemel Hemstead from Heathrow Terminal 2,3 and Luton Airport, or any other location using the βBOOK BUSβ link below.
For those flying into Heathrow that are not renting a car or taking an Uber, we recommend the bus as the most cost effective mode of transport. The bus station is within the airport, however we suggest to allow a minimum of 1 hour from your scheduled arrival time to reach the bus station.
Follow signs to Heathrow Central Bus Station T2,3. A bus leaves approximately every 2 hours. We suggest booking the bus in advance to secure your seat(s) and selecting a direct route to avoid any changeovers or connections.
If you book a bus, you can request an Uber to take you from the bus station to Ashridge once you arrive.

DRIVING DIRECTIONS

For those friends and family not familiar or comfortable with driving stick-shift/manual cars, YOU MUST REQUEST AN AUTOMATIC CAR when booking your rental.
Stick-shift/manual cars are the default in the UK, and you will most likely receive one automatically if you donβt request otherwise.

GATWICK AIRPORT
Ashridge House is approximately 1.5hr drive from Gatwick Airport. There are no direct trains or buses from Gatwick Airport, and we would suggest flying into Heathrow for a more seamless travel experience.
If you are flying to Gatwick, you can either rent a car or take 3 connecting trains to get out to Ashridge House.
For the train option, we'd recommend taking a train from Gatwick Airport to London Victoria then the London Underground to Euston and finally a train from Euston to Hemel Hempstead.

LONDON EUSTON
Trains from London Euston take 30 minutes to Berkhamsted station with a train departing Euston approximately every 15 minutes.
If you book a train, you can request an Uber from the train station to Ashridge once you arrive.
